# Sweep roadmap

Updated 2026-10-06. https://sweep.qubixcode.com/roadmap

## Shipped

In the app today.

- **Every ecosystem in one scan** (1.0): node_modules, .next, Pods, .venv, target, Flutter and Gradle builds, .dart_tool, .cxx, vendor, .build and ios/build.
- **Grouped by project** (1.0): Every folder under the project it belongs to, monorepos under their workspace root.
- **Safe, Caution, Active** (1.0): Dated by your last git activity and your own edits, not by folder dates.
- **Restore commands** (1.0): The exact command to rebuild each folder, picked from its lockfile.
- **Never what git tracks** (1.0): Folders with tracked files inside are never listed.
- **Global caches** (1.0): npm, pnpm, yarn, bun, Gradle, Maven, Cargo, pip, uv, Pub, CocoaPods, Composer and Go caches.
- **Safe cleaning** (1.0): Re-checks every folder right before deleting, skips folders in use, measures what was really freed, Trash or delete.
- **The Mac app** (1.0): Project list and treemap, Clean All Safe, ignore list and pins, weekly scan, menu bar total, CSV export.
- **Automatic updates** (1.0): New versions install from inside the app. Signed and notarized by Apple.

## Later

Wanted, not scheduled yet. Tell us what you would use most.

- **Docker images and volumes**: The other place old projects hide gigabytes.
- **Editor recents**: Use VS Code, Cursor, Xcode and Android Studio recent projects as one more sign of life.
- **More ecosystems**: .terraform, .tox, .expo, .angular cache, Elixir _build and deps, Haskell .stack-work, zig-cache.
- **Scheduled Clean All Safe**: Sweep Safe projects automatically on a schedule you choose, with a summary afterwards.

## Not planned

Things we have decided not to build, and why.

- **A Mac App Store version**: The App Store sandbox can't walk your project folders or ask git what it tracks, so Sweep is sold directly.
- **A subscription**: Sweep is a one-time purchase, and version 1 updates are included.
- **Accounts or cloud sync**: Sweep runs entirely on your Mac. Nothing to sign up for, and scans never leave it.
- **Touching your source**: Sweep only removes folders your tools can recreate, never code, lockfiles, .env files or .git.
